Move your data
Products, stock levels per location and customers moved from your current system and checked.

Set up and test
Taxes, receipts, staff accounts, discounts and payments configured, then test sales, refunds and exchanges.

Train your team
A hands-on session for staff, and a short written guide for the counter.

Switch over

How much does Shopify POS setup cost, and how long does it take?

Shopify POS setup is custom quoted, because it depends on how many locations, products and staff you have and whether you are moving from another POS system. It typically takes 1 to 2 weeks, and your current system keeps running until the switch-over day.

Do I need to close my store to switch POS?

No. We set up Shopify POS alongside your current system, so you keep trading as normal. Your team is trained before the switch-over, which we plan for a quiet day.

What is the difference between POS Lite and POS Pro?

POS Lite comes with every Shopify plan and covers the basics of selling in person. POS Pro is a paid add-on for each location that adds staff permissions, advanced inventory and more ways to sell across your shop and website. We help you choose based on how your store runs.

Can I keep my current card reader?

Usually not. Shopify POS works with Shopify's own card readers and a list of supported hardware. Many receipt printers, scanners and cash drawers can be reused if they are compatible, and we check yours first.
