How much does a Shopify store cost in 2026?
What a custom Shopify store costs to build, what you pay Shopify every month, and where the money actually goes.

At Shyft Stack, a custom Shopify store costs $500 for one page, $1,450 for five pages and from $2,490 for 10 pages or more, each at a fixed price, plus your monthly Shopify plan and apps. Migrations start from $1,450. Shopify Plus builds, B2B and wholesale stores, and Shopify POS setup are quoted per project.
The build is a one-off cost. The running costs, paid to Shopify and app makers, are what you pay every month for as long as the store is open. Budget for both.
What the build costs
Build cost is driven by three things: how many unique page layouts you need, how many products have to be set up, and how much custom functionality the store needs beyond what Shopify does out of the box. These are our fixed prices for new stores:
- Launch, $500: a one-page custom store with up to 5 products, delivered in about 1 week
- Brand, $1,450: up to 5 custom pages and 25 products, with email sign-up, reviews, analytics and accessibility checks, delivered in 2–3 weeks
- Growth, from $2,490: 10 or more custom pages and up to 100 products, selling in USD, GBP and CAD, with upsells and cross-sells, delivered in 3–5 weeks
- Migration from Wix, Squarespace, WooCommerce or any other platform: from $1,450, typically 2–4 weeks. The final quote depends on how many products and pages you have
- Shopify Plus, B2B and wholesale builds, and Shopify POS setup: custom quote. POS setup typically takes 1–2 weeks
A page here means a unique layout, such as the home page, a collection page or the about page. Every product uses the same product template, so a store with 80 products does not need 80 designs.
What you pay every month
- Your Shopify plan, billed by Shopify. Check Shopify's own pricing page for current rates, as they change and vary by country
- Payment processing fees on each order
- Paid apps, such as reviews, subscriptions or email marketing
- A paid theme licence, if you build on a premium theme rather than a custom one
- Ongoing development, if you want a team on call. Our support plans start at $299 a month for 5 hours
Apps are the cost that creeps. Each one is small, but a store with a dozen apps can spend more on them than on its Shopify plan. A good build uses what Shopify already includes before adding an app.
What makes a store cost more
- Custom functionality, such as product personalisation, bundles, subscriptions or wholesale pricing
- Integrations with an ERP, warehouse or accounting system
- Migrating a large catalog, customer list and order history from another platform
- Shopify Plus features such as checkout extensions and B2B company accounts
- Selling in several countries with different catalogs, prices and languages
What is usually not included
Agency prices rarely include logo or brand design, product photography or copywriting, and never include your Shopify plan, theme licence or app fees. Ask for a written list of what is and is not included before you compare quotes. A cheaper quote that leaves out product setup or accessibility is not cheaper.
How to keep the cost down
- Start with the pages you need now. You can add landing pages later, at $150 a page with us
- Have your product photos and copy ready before the build starts
- Choose apps after the store is built, not before
- Get a fixed price, not an hourly estimate, so the cost cannot run over
Prices in this article are Shyft Stack's published package prices as of October 2026, in US dollars. UK and Canadian clients can be invoiced in GBP or CAD.
